We hold coffee mornings five times a year, and lunches four times. Usually, they all fall on a Thursday.
Coffee mornings: For these, you just have to turn up but, if you do, please remember to print your name on the attendance slips before leaving so that we can ensure we claim a full grant for everyone who attends a function.
Both coffee mornings and lunches are now held at the same place, The Mecure (formerly Park Inn), Silver Street, Northampton NN1 2TA, in the town centre.
Lunches: Circulars are sent to members with the regular issues of our own newsletter, The Link, to invite them to attend lunches. We now meet at The Mecure (formerly Park Inn), Silver Street, Northampton NN1 2TA, in the town centre.
Note – Lunches have to be both booked and paid for 6 weeks before the event. Be aware that there are NO refunds if you cannot attend.
If you come by car, please remember to key in your car registration number on arrival in reception to avoid receiving a fine.
The meetings so far are:

Unfortunately, the booked speaker has had to cancel due to a health issue. Instead, we will have Jennifer Rose, who will talk about Queen Eleanor of Castile and her marriage to Edward 1st, and how the famous crosses came about.

Coventry is a city known for the Medieval Cathedral, which was left in ruins after a WW11 bombing and the 20th century
replacement, with abstract stained glass, that stands beside it. I have booked a Blue Badge guide to give an interesting tour of 3 Cathedrals and the town square, where there is a statue of Lady Godiva on her horse. The Blue Badge guide tour is optional, but I need to know if you wish to do it, so please indicate that on the form in The Link Autumn 2025.
The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum is also interesting and has a good café. There are plenty of shops and places to eat if you just want to do your own thing.
The coach will leave Christchurch Road (Abington Park end) at 9.00 am and Sixfields at 9.15 am. Please indicate at which pick-up point you will be waiting.
Return – leaving at 4.30 pm. For parking at Sixfields, please visit yourparkingspace.co.uk
Note: No acknowledgements will be sent out. Once booked, if you are unable to make the trip, no refund will be given. If you are interested, please complete the response slip in the Autumn 2025Monday Newsletter and return it to Janet Holt by Monday, 1st September, together with your cheque, made payable to:

Please use the form in the Christmas Edition of the Link and place a tick against the match you would like to attend, this gives you ONE ticket so I can
spread the allocation to as many members as possible.
If any match is oversubscribed I will hold a draw to allocate the tickets.
Note: This year the Women’s T20 Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup Women’s League Two Fixtures are also included on the form.
Tickets are open to all members, however full members will be given priority. Associate members
will be charged £12.50 per ticket for any tickets allocated to them.
Once all application forms have been received and tickets allocated, I shall contact the successful
Associate members to advise them of which game/tickets they have been allocated and request a cheque, before publishing the full ticket allocation and sending out the tickets.
ALL completed forms must be returned by the 31st of January 2025.
We have received sufficient interest in football tickets for the Cobblers next season. Updates will follow in future editions of the newsletter.
